Boxing Day 1973
|
Chelsea 2-4 West Ham :-) I was at this game, stood on the North Stand terrace opposite the shed end. Was bloody freezing, snow in the air too. Think we were 2 down at half-time. Got a lift to the game from a couple of Chelsea friends :-( sang Bubbles all the way home :-)

Where did you see the Graham Paddon film, would be interested to watch. I always enjoyed Graham Paddon so would love to see this.

Graham Paddon was a much under rated player.
Loved the long hair and the beard and he had a great left foot.
Died young, real shame.

Terry-h dident know that about Graham Paddon, a real shame, a lovely player, in true Irons tradition. Another example of "real life starting when the professional sports career ends".

Memorable for a towering back post header from Clyde Best sparking great celebrations for a few thousand Hammers in the shed leading on to the tube back to Earls Court being rocked from side to side , oh happy day .

That West Ham team looks pretty mediocre comparing it to the present side. Apart from Lampard sen.,Bobby Moore, and Sir Trevor, they don't really excite,do they?
I don't know if any of you have watched the short film documentary of Graham Paddon done by his daughter that was only 3 when his wife kicked him out because of his drinking. His early death at 57 seemed to be a result of his alcoholism. He died on his own on a caravan park. So fucking sad.
